Burton Arlanda Chittum, Sr.
Burton Arlanda Chittum, Sr., 88, died February 14, 2010 in Courtland Healthcare Center in Courtland, Virginia. Born in Lexington, Virginia he was the son of the late Sadie and Emmett Newton Chittum and the widower of Minnie A. Chittum; and he was predeceased by Granddaughter Bambi Stelton and two brothers. Mr. Chittum was a parts supervisor for the city of Suffolk.
Survivors includes two daughter’s Shirley Cutchin and husband Jerry of St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca Bailey and husband Jimmy of Virginia Beach, VA; two son’s Burton A. Chittum Jr. and wife Frances of Suffolk, and Ronald L. Chittum and wife Sheila of Adel, GA; Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 2 PM. in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dolan Talbert. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory Monday from 7 to 8:30 PM. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
