Mildred D. Wade
Mildred Darden Wade, 91, passed away July 19, 2010 in Suffolk. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Gile Wade, Jr; and her son, Dennis G. Wade, III.
Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late John and Lydia Darden. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk, was involved in Christian Woman’s Club, and she delivered Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Wade Butcher of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Randall J. Butcher, Daniel W. Butcher, and Sharon A. Butcher; great-grandchild, Claire Butcher; sisters, Dorothy Walton of Suffolk, Helen Rogers of Suffolk, and Virginia Braddock of Jacksonville, FL.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson and Rev. Michael D. Halley. The family will receive friends at the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington Street, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA, 23434 on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters, 601 Childrens lane, Norfolk, VA, 23501 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
