Meet Our Dedicated Staff, this includes our full time and part time staff that helps make our funeral home professional and caring.

	Charley Bailey (18 yrs.)
	Carolyn Brothers (10 yrs.) Mrs. Brothers is a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School. In November 1960 she married Charles H. Brothers, Sr. They have one son and one grandson. Carolyn has been a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church for over forty years. She has been the organist and choir director for over thirty years. Carolyn has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 1993.
	Forest Cathy (13 yrs.) Mr. Cathy is a 1943 graduate of Suffolk High School and a 1950 graduate of VPI. He served 2 years and 8 months in the navy. Forrest married Mary Jane Brooks of Abington, Va on Thanksgiving day 1950. They have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. Forrest has been a member of Suffolk Christian Church since 1970. He retired from Norfolk Coca-Cola Bottling Works in 1980. Forrest enjoys fishing and playing bridge. He has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 1990.
	Bill Eason Mr. Eason was born in Suffolk and was a 1952 graduate of Suffolk High School where he played football, baseball, and ran track. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and served 4 years in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1956 as a Staff Sergeant. In 1955 he married Anne Benton. They have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Bill retired from Birdsong Peanut Co. after 26 years. Bill has been a member of First Baptist Church for 60 years. He enjoys playing golf and riding his motorcycle. He has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 2003.

	Boyd Hogan Mr. Hogan is from Lynchburg, Va. He married Joann Ware and they have five children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Boyd honorably served in the UNAF for a total of eight years. He retired as manager of Suffolk Gas Corporation. Boyd is a member of Elks, Kiwanis, Ruritan, TBA, American Gas Assoc., Southern Gas Assoc., Southeastern Gas Assoc., Virginia Gas Council, and Virginia Safety Committee. He has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 2004.
	Bill Powell (10 yrs.) Mr. Powell is a 1958 graduate of Suffolk high School. He was a member of the National Guard from 1962 thru 1968. In 1960 Bill married Roberta Baker of Suffolk. They have 2 Children, five grandchildren. Bill is a member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Bill has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 1960.
	Earl Smith (5 yrs.) Mr. Smith was born in Gates County, N.C. He is a graduate of Sunbury High School. He and his wife Glenda have been married for 30 years. Earl is a member of the Liberty Spring Ruritan Club, Liberty Spring Senior Citizens and Liberty Spring Christian Church. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding. Earl works 2 days a week at Suffolk Meals on Wheels and delivers meals once a quarter. He is an honorary life member of the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad after actively pulling duty for 33 years. Earl enjoys fishing and being active in church. He has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 2000.
	Brandi Turner, a Suffolk native, joined the Baker family business in 2003 as a part time employee. In 2004 she begin her eighteen month Apprenticeship. Brandi is a 2003 graduate of John Tyler Community College, with a degree in Mortuary Science. In November 2003, she passed her National Board Exam, and in July 2005 also passed her State Board Exam. Brandi has since then joined our family of Licensed Funeral Directors.
	Marjorie Wilkinson (11 yrs.) Mrs. Wilkinson was raised in Perquimans Co. Hertford, N.C. She moved to Suffolk Va., and in 1942 she married Jack Joyner, who died in 1968. They had one son, Vance and his wife Shelly. Marjorie attended LOMH School of Nursing for Practical Nurse and retired after many years of Private Duty nursing, nursing for Lakeview and for Obici. In 1976 she married Bill Wilkinson who died in 1987. She is a member of Suffolk Christian Church and was past president of the Suffolk Woman’s Club. In her spare time she enjoys the company of her playful pup Mr. Peanut. Marjorie has one grandson, Jonathan, and is expecting one great-grandchild. Marjorie has been with R. W. Baker & Co. since 1990.
