Carolyn Edwards Rountree

Carolyn Edwards Rountree, 90, widow of John T. Rountree, died Monday, January 10, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, William J. and Chloe M. Edwards; two sisters, Edith E. Norfleet and Ione E. Yetman.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda R. Lytton (Danny) and son, John T. Rountree, Jr. (Lynda); three grandchildren, Joy Ackert, Jesse Rountree and Seth Lytton and her great grandchildren, Owen Ackert, Leo Ackert, Parker Lytton, Emersyn Lytton, Hayden Lytton and Cooper Rountree along with one sister, Alma E. Poole and a brother, “Sonny” Edwards.

Mrs. Rountree was a member of Westover Hills United Methodist Church and it’s United Methodist Women. She was a dedicated volunteer at Chippenham Hospital for over three decades.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2 PM at Holly Lawn Cemetery Suffolk, VA. Masks are recommended. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, VA 23434 is serving the family.

I am saddened to hear of Carolyn's passing. I have fond memories of the Edwards/Clements families visiting Antioch Church at Memorial time and having their family get together. My love, thoughts and prayers are with Alma, Sonny and the family.
