Charles W Cook

Charles W. Cook of Dendron, VA passed away into the loving arms of our savior on July 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving wife and family, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  He was a son of the late Charlie and Lizzie Cook. He was predeceased by a grandson, Austin Spiers and brothers, Clarence, Billy, Bobby, Johnny and Harold. 

Charles was a self-employed general contractor for approximately 60 years with his son Chuck and son-in-law Lee by his side. He was a true craftsman in his trade. He enjoyed new construction, remodeling, making cabinets and furniture. He could create whatever he visioned. He was a deacon of Dendron Baptist Church. He was an honorary member of Dendron Volunteer Fire Department after many years of active service. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Janice; son, Charles (Chuck) W. Cook, Jr.; daughters, Diane Young (Keith), Wanda Pittman (Kenny), Celeste Spiers (Lee); “doggie daughter” Lillie Bell; cats, Bootsy and Kelly too; nine grandchildren, Christina Wallace (Jeremiah), Melissa Lemons, Leonard Young, Brandon Eggleston (Melany), Britney Aultman (Chris), Brianne Pittman, Amanda Adams (Justin), Justin Spiers, Miranda Spiers; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers Donald Cook (Janice) of Portland, Indiana , Mason Cook
(Bernice) of Ivor, VA,  Glenn Cook (Paulette) of Windsor, VA   

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11AM in the Dendron Volunteer Fire Department, by Rev. David Barlow. Burial will follow in the Cook Family Cemetery. Charles will be available for viewing on Thursday and Friday from 9AM to 5PM in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Dendron Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 155 Dendron, VA 23839. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
