David Jude Villemuer

David Jude Villemuer, Sr., 70, passed away on December 1, 2022 at his home in Portsmouth, VA. He was born in Louisiana to the late Phillip Joseph Villemuer and Verna Villemuer.  He was preceded in death by brothers Wayne Villemuer and Phillip Villemuer Jr., and step-son Jeffery Oxton.

David was a 20 year Navy veteran. He was an avid gamer, playing MLB the Show with his son almost every Sunday with PSN gamer tag WHODATV. Sobriety was very important to him, with more than 15 years sober. He will be remembered as being a great father and grandfather as well as a selfless caregiver to his wife. David was a thrill seeker, enjoying roller coasters at Busch Gardens and jet skiing; he knew how to have fun even at 70 years old.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Villemuer, son David Villemuer Jr, step-sons Larry Oxton, Chad Oxton, and Ian Oxton, sister Jeanette Miller, grandson Keith Villemuer, and his faithful dog Caesar.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 2pm at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk VA 23434. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 6-7:30pm in the R. W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, North Suffolk Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Ln, Suffolk VA 23434. My deepest sympathies to the family. David was a great employee of Highground Services in the years that he worked for us.
