Donald Roy Hinkey

Donald R. Hinkey, 79, of Carrollton, Va formerly of Ohio, passed away on November 24, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Vera Hinkey; sister, Doris Nuckols.

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia E. Hinkey; sons, Chris Hinkey, Brett Hinkey (Meredith), and Brian Hinkey (Danielle); grandchildren, Zoe, Alexandra, Sydney, Reagan, and Harrison; great-grandchildren, Mason and Stetson Neel; niece, Jennifer Metts; and nephew, Jeffery Nuckols.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorial donations be made to Horton Wreath Society, PO Box 6246, Virginia Beach, VA 23456-0246.

I enjoyed knowing Don the few years that we were given since he and Patty joined our church. I know his passing is a great loss to his dear wife and family. Lord in Your Mercy, we ask that You send the Holy Spirit to comfort them in their grief and mourning. Amen.
