Ed was a devoted member of the Tuesday Night Prayer group that consisted of friends, family, and loving brothers and sisters in Christ. He was a member of the Wakefield Ruritan Club and has supported his community over the years in many capacities.

Ed loved and was loved by his family, whom he cherished, supported, and encouraged. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, June Cooke Castle of Waverly, VA; his four children and their spouses Bonita Jo Castle Meyers and Robert of Wakefield; Edmond Wayne Castle, Jr. and Marti of Waverly; Robert Otis Castle and Michelle of Spring Grove; and Melissa Castle Ewald and Ron of Williamsburg. My sympathy goes to his family. The memory I first go to by hearing this news of his passing is music! I sang with my mother Tommie Bailey in the Dominion Singers. This is where I first met Ed. I'm sure they are both singing in the greatest choir of all now. God bless you!

I am so sorry for your loss. We shared many good memories working together at Waverly Baptist Church and through the years in Waverly Rescue Squad. Ed had a love for helping other people ❤️
