Elsie Joyner Copeland

Elsie Joyner Copeland went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2019. She was the daughter of the late George Joyner and Eunice Joyner. She is predeceased by her husband, Wesley Grover Copeland, Jr. for almost 60 years and her brother, George Joyner, Jr., sister Alma Dickerson and son-in-law, Wallace W. Vaughan.

Elsie was a long-time member of Oakland Christian Church in Chuckatuck, she was a former Girl Scout leader, charter member of Laurel Garden Club, Past President of the Junto Woman’s Club and member of numerous bridge clubs.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Copeland Vaughan of Suffolk and son Richard Samuel Copeland and wife Jean of Suffolk. Grandchildren Carol Vaughan White spouse Kelsie of Florida, Dana L. Copeland of Portsmouth, Lisa White Vaughan of California and a great granddaughter, Lauren White.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Mary Ann Biggs held in Newman Memorial Cemetery at Oakland Christian Church, 5491 Godwin Blvd Chuckatuck, Suffolk on Wednesday March 20, 2019 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship Hall following the service.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs Copeland passing I enjoyed all the years I cared for her at nursing home will keep you all in prayer
