Eva Jane Livesay

Eva Jane Livesay, age 68 died peacefully on her birthday, November 27, 2021, in Petersburg, Virginia.

Eva was born on November 27 in 1953 in Surry Virginia to Mary Crowder and Andrew Livesay; pre-deceased by her step-sister Frances Livesay. Eva grew up in Surry County and graduated from Surry County Academy.

She is survived by her brother Johnny Livesay (Debra); sisters Gladie Scott (Kevin), Ginny Shott (Kenny), along with her niece, and numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.

Eva was a member of the Moore’s Swamp Baptist Church located in Elberon, Virginia. She retired in 2014 from Dominion Energy Surry Power Station after 40 years of service.

The simple pleasures in life brought so much joy to Eva. She loved gathering with friends and family; while also finding so much beauty in nature by taking walks and feeding the birds.

Eva had a bright and energetic personality that could light up a room whether she was traveling or simply baking for others. She touched so many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Eva’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceeds the time here on earth.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service held by Pastor David Barlow at Moore’s Swamp Baptist Church, 2300 Runnymeade Rd, Elberon, Virginia 23846 on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be held at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Eva’s name to Surry Rescue Squad, PO Box 188, Surry Virginia 23883 or the Suffolk Humane Society, 412 Kings Fork Rd, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.

Guestbook

I just founded out Eva had passed. I send my love & prayers to the family. I went to school with the Livesay family. Gladie and I were in the same grade in Surry Elem. My Uncle Albert Matthews lived across Hwy 10 from the Livesay family also and they became good friends. May God bless you all.

Whenever you put Aunt Eva in a room with her siblings you ultimately knew there was going to be lots of childhood reminiscing; stories that would be bring forth endless amounts of laughter coincided with tears from laughing so hard. Even though she was the youngest of 4, she knew how to stand up for herself with her humor and witty personality.

I can't remember a time when Eva wasn't at a birthday, graduation, holiday, or family dinner. She spoiled me constantly by making all my childhood birthday cakes, taking me shopping in Williamsburg, and introducing me to the movie Dirty Dancing. Summers were spent with her snd nanny playing cards together at the kitchen table.

What would I give to just hug you again and tell you how much I love you, or watch you play for hours with Henley. I will miss our nature walks and watching you feed the birds.

The pain is overwhelming but I do find comfort in the thought of Eva being welcomed into heaven by her incredible mom (Nanny), her step-sister Frances, Aunt Maggie, Aunt Gracie, Aunt Totsy and Al and mostly importantly finally getting to meet her father Andrew (who died when she was only 6 months old). I think we can all agree, they are having one heck of a family reunion up there in heaven.

Love you to the heavens and back Eva! I know Henley and baby Harper will have you, one more beautiful guardian angel, watching over them. You will never be forgotten!

Eva was a joy and encouragement always whenever she came with Craig to events at Oak Grove UMC years ago. Praying with her many friends and family. Rest In Peace in the arms of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
