Geraldine McClenny Schwartz

Geraldine McClenny Schwartz, 86, passed on December 4, 2021. She was born to Harry O. McClenny and Minnie G. McClenny in Suffolk, Virginia on September 4, 1935. She was predeceased by her sisters, Orlander Miltier, and Thelma Turner.

She retired from Suffolk Public Schools as a teacher's assistant for Early Start children. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and was very active in her Sunday School Class.

She enjoyed working with crafts, loved working with her flower gardening, and watching birds from her kitchen window. She had a passion for her neighbors and friends. She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her four children, Willard Irvin Jones Jr. (Ursula), Landa J. Daughtrey, Leland Wayde Jones (Diane), and George T. Jones. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Kat Law (Bryan), Sarah Castleberry (Josh), A.D. Daughtrey, Erica Gallaher (Corey), Cassie Jones, and Miranda Jones. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Nolan and Nora Gallaher, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a special cat, whom she loved dearly, Minnie.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 2 PM at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk. All friends and family are encouraged to attend. Condolences may be registered at R.W.BakerFH.com.
