Dr. Judy L. She and Bill followed her adventurous spirit to pursue her education in America.  She earned her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Virginia and worked at NASA Langley for several decades.  During her career, she published an extensive volume of scientific research and earned multiple accolades for her work.  Outside of work, she loved to play tennis and captained her champion NASA Team against the teams from the Penninsula USTA League.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bill; her elder sister, Lillian Chen (Yancy) and her younger brother, Alexander Su (Josephine); and numerous nieces and nephews, on whom she doted as her own children. She is predeceased by her sisters Lila Doong and Ling-mai Lan, and her brother Robert Su.

She will lie in state at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, this weekend December 21-22, 2018 from 9 AM to 5 PM and visitation with family on Sunday, December 23, 10 – 11 AM and 1-3 PM. Dear Bill, I'm saddened by the news that your wife, Judy, has passed. I along with many others will miss her. I have many good memories of playing tennis with you and Judy. She was a remarkable woman. Hope to see you soon at the Wellness Center. Your friend, Bill

Dear Bill, I am so sorry to hear of Judy's passing. She was so kind and personable and I enjoyed very much the all too short time frame that I was able to be on the tennis court with her. I know you will miss her greatly but there is comfort in knowing she no longer suffers. I look forward to seeing you on the tennis court again. Take care and know that your "tennis buddies" at the wellness center care about you. Tom Barnard

Bill: We were honored by the pleasure of knowing you and Judy as you shopped in our humble store. While I never knew of your wife's scientific contributions ( I would have prodded her with questions for I am very inqusitive in the research on radiation), it was obvious that she was a wonderful person and a loving wife. I hope your good nature and humor will continue to shine in this world in memory of the 53 years of love you shared. You have our deepest condolences and I am sorry I was out of town and did not learn of her passing until Monday. May the God of all comfort bless you with His peace at this time.
