Myleke Blake Bryant
Myleke Blake Bryant, 33, of Quinton, VA, passed away peacefully and unexpectantly, on January 15, 2021. He was born on January 29, 1987, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Doris Bryant.
He attended Chesterfield County Schools and graduated from Matoaca High School in 2009, where he was a member of the Medford Basketball Team.
Myleke started his participation in Special Olympics in Philadelphia competing in track and field and swimming events. He continued his involvement in Special Olympics when his family moved to Virginia. He was an active participant in the following sports: basketball, softball, track and field, soccer, speed skating, roller skating, bowling, bocce ball, and swimming. He was chosen to represent the Virginia State Special Olympics at the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Idaho, USA. As a member of the National Special Olympics Team USA, Myleke competed in the speed skating 222-meter event winning a Gold Medal, the speed skating 500-meter event winning a Silver Medal, and the speed skating 333-meter event winning a Fourth Place Medal.
Myleke was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Bryant at an early age. He is survived by his stepparent, Penny Edwards, of Quinton; his maternal grandparents Bernice and Lonnie DeSesso, of South Philadelphia, PA; his sisters Sherrell Brown (Tremaine) of Chester and Tia Grizzle (Mark) of Colonial Heights; brother Michael Bryant (fiancé Andrea) of Richmond; nephew Bronson Grizzle; nieces, Karrina Grizzle, Samantha Brown, and Savannah Brown; aunt, Veronica Newton (Kenneth) of Carmeys Point, NJ; uncle, Darius DeSesso of South Philadelphia, PA; aunt Linda Collins (Robert) of Quinton, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends from both Philadelphia and Virginia.
He was an avid lover of drawing, sports, superheroes, and all animals. He will be sadly missed by his dogs Zoey, Louie and his cat Tiger G.
A graveside service will be held 2PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Moore’s Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Gale R. Kirkman officiating. In honor of Myleke the family request those attending the service dress in superhero themed costumes.

We met Myleke many years ago when he attended MCF with his sister & brother. He has such a sweet spirit and the best smile! Our prayers are with you all.

I will miss Myleke greatly. I worked with Myleke at C.A.N doing crafts. Myleke loved doing crafts and he did them well with little instructions. I will miss your smile. I know you will be watching over your family and friends. You were loved by all at C.A.N.

I was saddened to hear the news of Myleke's passing. My heart is broken for Penny and her family. Myleke was a nice young man and always had a smile on his face when he came to the dog club with Penny. My deepest condolences to Penny and family.

Im so very sorry to hear about Myleke. What a nice young man he was. I always enjoyed seeing Myleke with Penny at RDOC and saying hi to him. Penny and family, Im very sorry for your loss.
