Robert C. Shellito
Robert C Shellito , “Pepper” died January 23, 2021. He was the son of the late Lillian and Arthur Shellito. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Elizabeth Allen as well 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Pepper served in the U.S. Navy, serving onboard thenUSS George Washington. He retired as a Lieutenant for the City of Portsmouth Police Department.
He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Priscilla; children Robert C. Shellito II and wife Syble, Deborah S. McDermott, Kathy S. Anderson and husband John. He is survived by 11 grandchildren: Lauren Rodil, Justin Rodil, John Shellito and wife Brenda, April Vinson, Bobby Shellito, Greg Totty and wife Aaron, Amber Staton and husband Patrick, Sarah Lopez and husband Luis, Jordan Anderson, Cody Anderson, and Dylan Anderson. He was also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
In his younger years Pepper was an avid hunter and fisherman. Other than his soulmate, Priscilla, the most important thing in his life was his very close-knit family. His extended family meant everything to him and he spent a great deal of time “making memories”. From traveling, camping, fishing trips, singing songs and hosting “Hen parties” - he was always coming up with something fun and memorable.
His crazy antics and family loyalty will be cherished in our memories forever.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 2pm at Great Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
Love and prayers to you Debbie and family. Keep the good memories alive and may they comfort you through this difficult time.

Dear Priscilla, Robbie, Debbie, Kathy and families, I am saddened to hear about Peppers passing. He will always be warmly remembered by me for his deep laugh and mischievous smile. He was a great friend to both of my parents, Abel and Sue. Im sure they are all up to some antics right now in Heaven. I will keep all of you in my prayers. I pray that you can smile through the tears when thinking of him. I pray that you will be comforted by the long and loving life he had. I am very sorry that I will be unable to come to his service on Wednesday. My heart and thoughts will be with you all at that time. Kevin extends his condolences as well. Love and hugs to you all.
