Sandra "Sandy" Franklin Mizelle

Sandra (Sandy)    Franklin Mizelle went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2019. She was surrounded by the love and devotion of family and friends.

Sandy was predeceased by her mother Fredia T. Franklin and father Lester E. “Cuz” Franklin.

She was retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections and a member of Windsor Christian Church in Windsor, VA.

Through the generosity of a special liver donor family, in 1994, Sandy was able to have additional time with her devoted husband, David O. Mizelle, Sr. and watch her children turn into fine young men. She was the PROUD mother of K. Gregory Zephir and his wife Alicia, of Bethel, NC and Christopher M. Zephir of Windsor, VA. She also had a stepson, David O. Mizelle, Jr. of Norfolk, VA. Sandy is also survived by a brother, Glen E. Franklin of Chesapeake, VA, and a half-sister Carol Nimmow of Baraboo, WI.

The family will a have a private celebration at later date. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com
