Mr. Duke was the finest gentleman I ever worked for at N&W/NS. He was a fair and kind man, speaking only of the good in a situation. While attending to the task at hand, he made sure you understood his appreciation of your work. His demeanor was not unnoticed as everybody wanted to assist him when he required help. I am sure this was also recognized in his personal life as it was I feel it was truly sincere.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends for this loss.

Shirley was a long time friend. I grew up with he and his Duke brothers and sister. After my wife got sick, Shirley would call me just about every week to find out how she was doing. This meant a lot to me and I really enjoyed talking to him..He will be missed but he not in pain anymore and that is a blessing to his family. Shirley, thanks for all the phone calls and chats when we run into each other. I will never forget you.

Shirley and my mom went to school together and were life long friends. He always made sure I got my Easter eggs every year. I will miss seeing him at George's. He was a very kind man that always brightened your day with his smile and enthusiasm for life. My heartfelt condolences to the family on the loss of this wonderful man.
