Shirley Samuel Mitchell

Shirley Samuel Mitchell was born on November 13, 1931 in Buffalo, New York and died November 3, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth Franklin Samuel. She was married Ray Mitchell for 68 years and they made their home in Surry, VA.

She is survived her husband Ray Mitchell; son Kenneth Mitchell and wife Kristee Mitchell; granddaughter Tamee Railey and husband Benjamin Railey; great granddaughter Danee Railey; two nieces Karen Belcher and husband Keith and Shelby Johnson and husband Shawn; two great nieces Valerie Daniels and husband Patrick and Amanda Warren and husband Wesley; two great nephews Chris Belcher and Brandon Belcher; three great great nephews Owen Daniels, Nolan Daniels and Levi Warren.

Service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the Wakefield United Methodist Church Preschool. Make checks to WUMC Preschool and mail to -

Sorry to here of her passing.We went to school together at Tidewater Academy, not sure u remember me. Class of 1984, I remember u used to work at Robbie Owen's seed store,in Wakefield,Va. .

It is with heavy heart to hear of the passing of Shirley. I'm truly going to miss her & seeing her. I will always keep the good memories over the years, especially all the Nags Head vacations we had together! Those were the best times!! My thoughts & prayers go out to the family.

I will miss Shirley. She has been a great friend for 4 generations of my family. I remember how much she did in the community and was a friend to all. RIPShirley
