Warner A. Harrison

Warner A. Harrison, 70, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020. He was predeceased by his birth father, Werner Bisson and maternal grandparents.

He had a heart of gold and always put others needs before himself. Whatever tasks he took on he finished to perfection.

He came to the United States of America as a child and was proud to become a US citizen in 1976, after serving in the US Navy. He proudly served and honored his adopted country and its flag.

After obtaining his Associate Degree in Business Administration, he worked for Lance Inc. retiring after 35 years. He was well known and loved throughout the community. For many people he was only known as the “Lance Man.” His wife and children have fond memories of many hours spent with him fielding business calls and at the warehouse helping to load the truck and counting merchandise, so he could get home faster to have extra time with his beloved family. His Lance career was spent on routes that spanned the Suffolk and Chesapeake Square areas. He will be dearly missed, and his family finds comfort that he has gained his angel wings.

Warner is survived by his devoted spouse of 48 years, Anita Harrison; children, Christine Woods and husband Clifton Woods and Brent Harrison and spouse Kayla Harrison; grandchild, Logan Woods; parents, James and Ingaborg Harrison and brothers, Dr. Clark Harrison and spouse Dana Harrison and Keith Harrison.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be held from 11:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Albert G. Horton. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.

Anita... I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. The "strong love and extensive commitment" between you and Werner were apparent the last time I saw the two of you together. Your special memories can make this adjustment period "bearable". My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Carol Faulcon-Dixon

Anita, it was nice to see you and the family. I am very sorry for your great loss being the circumstance that brought us together. I enjoyed growing up next door to you guys. I learned a lot from Warner working on the Lance truck and other projects. I even learned to weld as we welded angle iron to construct a large trailer. I remember him as a a hard worker, never afraid to get his hands dirty. I remember him being very witty. He would say stuff like, I needed a strong back and week mind for some help and I thought of you. Always full of fun, quick to smile and quick to generate a smile from you. My family and I appreciated the years we had as neighbors and the many years of friendship. We will miss Warner. We will be praying for you and your family. You have our phone numbers, do not hesitate to call if we can be of service. Bunches of Love, Darren Lathrop and Family.

My daughter Chandler and I would like to express to the family how sorry we are for your loss. Although we never had the pleasure to meet Mr.Harrison, we are saddened by his passing. Brent, we are very sorry for your loss. I know how close you were to your dad and the many days I remember over the years he gave you HIS WISDOM of motorcycle repairs and riding (lol). Those are times you will always remember. Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Bill and Barbara Ray.

Dear Nita and family, last Monday I received a call from Tommy with the shocking news of my friends passing. Warner and I started working as competitors some 40+ years ago with Warner working for Lance Foods and I was working for Toms Foods. My vivid memory was Warner and I having vending machines side be side at the Suffolk swimming pool. There were a lot of times that Warner and I would be filling our machines up at the very same time. From that day on Warner and I became friends. Through the years and after I opened my own vending business I always relied on Warner for helping me often repair some of my vending machines. Warner was brilliant and knew more about working on vending machines than I would ever know. I firmly believe that I could tear a machine down into 1000 pieces and Warner could put it back together. Not only am I going to miss him as someone who helped me but that was truly a good friend. I am so sorry Nita for you and your familys loss. May my friend and my Lance man Rest In Peace.

Very sorry for your families loss. Working for Keebler in the same area as Warner I always enjoyed seeing him. He had such a welcoming smile. We would share conversations while working in the stores. I was most impressed by his dedication to his craft. Praying for Gods comfort for all his family and friends.
