Wesley Milnes II

Wesley Milnes II, 73, died on June 25, 2021 surrounded by his daughters and family. He was the son of the late Myrtle and Arthur T. Milnes and was predeceased by a brother Franklin Milnes.

Wesley was retired from Dominion Virginia Power as a Purchasing Agent. He had a kind and gentle soul, loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking his daughters on hikes when they were young. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and he loved the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.

He is survived by his daughters Amber Nicole Milnes (Todd West) of Suffolk VA, Lauren Renee Zellars (Billy) of Sullivan, IN, and April Lynn Milnes of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren Elzee Rae Zellars, Denen Reign Zellars, and Ezra Wesley Milnes; siblings Louise Harkins (Michael), Richard Milnes (Louise), Anne Law (Frank), Gerald Milnes (Mary Alice), and Elizabeth Carleton.

A celebration of life service will be held on July 1, 2021, Thursday, 2 PM at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk VA 23434. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.

It was our honor to serve Wes for so many years. Our staff and volunteers always enjoyed sitting with him and talking about his life. We will miss him greatly. Thank you for giving us the honor of serving him.

He was a very kind man and we enjoyed having him as a guest in our home at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Amber and Todd were his loving caregivers. A kind, gentleman who loved his daughters and grandchildren. He will be missed.
